AP E-NEWS
Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace,
This weekend and next at AP Five Forks, Jesus will be teaching on the topic of money, and he'll say some things that may wound us but that are meant to heal and to help us in our spiritual walk with him. He wants us to be content in this life so that we can already today enjoy the heavenly riches we have been given, and so that we can enjoy them in fullness in heaven. Come with listening ears and believing hearts that are ready to put into practice what Jesus teaches. This Sunday Jesus says: "No one can serve two masters!"
AP Easley will focus on Jesus' words about "foundness."

Prayer Notes:
- We join Rick and Rhonda Zebrak in giving thanks to the Lord as Rick has returned from the hospital and is now recovering at home. God bless him with positive steps toward full strength and wellness.
- The recent act of violence on a college campus in Utah that resulted in the death of a man named Charlie Kirk, and yesterday's killing of three police officers in Pennsylvania (two more still in critical condition) causes us to approach our gracious God in prayer that he "deliver us from evil" and that "his kingdom come." We ask the Lord to bless the proclamation of the gospel so that people may be drawn away from evil and have peace, hope, and contentment that comes from life in his kingdom - a new life in Christ for today and for eternity.
- Jamie Pierson has begun his chemo treatments for pancreatic cancer and we ask the Lord to bless it with success and be the start of a path that leads to remission and wellness. We ask God to strengthen Jamie in body and soul, and grant peace to him and Pam.
Other Notes:
- Our Bible studies continue on Sunday.
- Sign up Sunday to help unload the pumpkin truck at the Five Forks campus on Saturday, October 11 (9:00 a.m.). Next Sunday the pumpkin selling calendar will go up, inviting you to pick some days and times to volunteer at the patch. As usual...all pumpkin proceeds are used for charity efforts.
- If you would like to be part of the planning team for Pumpkinfest, please connect with Bob Clarke, or let me know.
- College age members (and friends) will begin their "book club" on Saturday. Look for messages from Vicar Charlie. If you haven't connected with him about this, please do so asap.
- If you are interested in being part of a singing group for Reformation Sunday (October 26) at AP Five Forks, please connect with Kim Gnewuch or let me know.
- Our aluminum "can man" Rich reminds us all to please put your cans in garbage bags at home and bring them to church (no loose cans), and do not crush them. The two cans for your cans are by the side of the garage. Thanks.
