Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace,

God continues to introduce his Son to us.  Last Sunday he publicly proclaimed at the Jordan River that Jesus was his Son and the Anointed One, chosen for a specific purpose in God's plan of salvation.  This Sunday, God lays out that plan as he has John the Baptist point to Jesus and declare: "The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."  Come Sunday to hear more about this announcement and what it means for you.

Prayer Notes:

- Carol Walters is having surgery on her shoulder today, and so we ask the Lord to bless the medical team with wisdom and skill, and that he grant success to their work.  We entrust Carol into God's loving care and perfect will.

- We do the same with Kim Gnewuch's brother-in-law (Dan Smallish) who is battling cancer and struggling.  May Dan and his family find peace and hope in the promises of God and his gift of eternal life.

- It's fitting for us to pray for America at a time when there is much unrest and strife.  May these events we see remind us of the influence of sin and evil in the hearts of people and the need for the peace and hope that comes from the message of forgiveness and love proclaimed in the gospel.  May God make us all bold missionaries and speak God's truth in love.

- I also ask for your prayers for my mother who recently and unexpectedly needed 5 stents inserted to assist her heart.  She (LaDonna) is now recovering at home.  May God grant her patience and strength on this road to recovery and wellness, according to his plans and purposes.  (Thanks!)

Other Notes:

- Tonight is an APA "open house." Come if you have kids.   Share the news with others, if you don't.  We will have a game truck, "whack a mole," and a bonfire with s'mores.
