AP E-News

Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace,

Today begins the most important four days in the history of mankind.  Jesus meets with his disciples for a final time before he will be arrested and crucified.  He dies to atone for all sin of all mankind and for all mankind, and then he rises from the dead to declare his work of salvation was complete and he had triumphed over sin, death, and the powers of hell.  Now...we are forgiven, at peace with God, and heaven's door is open.  Easter means it is all true.  Believe it. Celebrate it!

Prayer Notes:

- Ken Weary is starting his chemo treatments for lymphoma and we pray that the Lord will bless him with strength and that the treatments are successful in this battle with cancer.  God grant Ken and his family peace as they begin this journey, knowing the risen Savior is with them.

- We join several members in giving thanks to the Lord as they recover from recent surgery.  God bless them with continued strength and healing.

- We pray that the message of Holy Week will bring peace and hope to all, and especially to those who are lost in the darkness of sin.  May the message of Christ's triumph over sin, death, and the powers of hell draw people to him in faith and for strengthening of faith.

Other Notes:

- The weather forecast is looking great for us to gather outside for worship at Five Forks at 10:00 a.m.  Please bring a chair or blanket. There will also be ushers available to help anyone who might need assistance getting to the field.

- The Easter flowers have arrived.  If you donated some, you are welcome to take yours home after worship on Sunday.

- Today at 10:30 our APA preschool will be singing as part of a special Easter chapel, and then at 11:15 our elementary school students will be singing songs and performing an Easter skit.  You are invited to attend.

- Tuesday our elementary school sang their Easter songs for the residents at Harmony in Five Forks.  It was great to see the smiles and joy on their faces.

- Wednesday morning Bible study at AP Five Forks resumes after Easter.

- A new Sunday morning study begins at AP Five Forks after Easter entitled - "The Covenant."
