AP E-News

We are into a new sermon/worship series that helps us understand the mission and ministry of Jesus.  ""Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem" (Luke 13:22).  With a sense of urgency, Jesus shared truths that people needed to hear, even it it hurt to hear them. "Wounds that Heal" is our theme.

Prayer Notes:

- We continue our prayers for all students, families, teachers and staff who are back to school.

- We also dip into the political world and offer up a prayer as we see two of the world's most influential people meeting (Pres. Trump and Putin), and we ask the Lord for positive steps that serve to protect people and provide some kind of peace and stability in war-torn areas.  All the while, we rejoice to know that we are blessed with a God who governs all things for the good of his church and the proclamation of the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Other Notes:

- Next Sunday, August 24th is our celebration of 25 years at our Five Forks (Batesville Rd) campus.  Be sure to stop in the Fellowship Hall between services for cake and a scrolling slideshow, along with a few "artifacts" of the past 25 years.

- The singing group for August 24th will meet between services to rehearse.

- We were blessed to open the school year with 124 students enrolled in APA.  We have a couple spots in K4 available.  Spread the word, as you have opportunity.

- Sunday school for all ages (Kindergarten and up) at AP Five Forks begins September 7th.  Make this 45 minutes a regular part of your Sunday schedule each week.

- We are inviting a few more people to volunteer in our school office.  See the entryway table at Five Forks to sign up.

- Starting September 7th, the Sunday morning schedule at AP Easley is this: 9:00 a.m. Bible study, 10:00 a.m. worship, with fellowship time afterwards.

Those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries the week of August 17-23 (to extend a greeting, if you wish):

"Happy Birthday!" to: Whoa...no birthdays, according to our records.  (If I'm missing someone, please let me know.)

"Happy Anniversary!" to: Todd & Dina Nelson (19).

That's all for this week.

God's blessing on your day.

- Pastor Duane
