Good morning and greetings from Abiding Peace,

We started our Lenten journey with Jesus last Sunday.  It will take us to Holy Week, which ends at the cross and empty tomb.  What a blessing it is to gather each week to marvel at God's love for us in the saving work of Jesus.  Come Sunday to hear and learn more, as we continue to take up our cross and follow Jesus.

Prayer Notes:

- Tomorrow is the infamous "Ides of March" - marking the assisination of Julius Caesar by as many as 60 conspirators.  While far from a perfect comparison, this time in March ("ides" means "middle") we are seeing conspirators rise up against Jesus, the Christ.  The death of Caesar led to the end of the Roman Republic, but the death of Jesus led to the rise of the Christian Church, of which we are a part.  It's a good time for us to say an extra prayer of thanksgiving to our Savior for his death and resurrection, and the peace and joy that is ours as members of his Church.

Other Notes:

- Sign up Sunday to donate flowers for Easter ($10).  I'd like to place the order soon.  Thanks.

- APT meets Sunday after the second service for some food and games (watch the weather and any updates that may come from vicar).

- Look for other teen news in the Sunday folder.

- If you haven't yet, please give the vicar your money for tickets to the Swamp Rabbit game coming up.

- Early spring workday "to do" list includes spreading pre emergent crabgrass killer.  If you have time to do that next week - let me know.  Thanks.  The actual planned workday is Saturday, April 12th. A full "to do" list will be available soon if anyone wants to work ahead.

Those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries the week of March 16 - 22 (to extend a greeting, if you wish):

"Happy Birthday" to: Bob Calrke (16), Felicia Leeds (16), Sofia Morgenroth (17), Logan Ward (17), Lauren Ward (17), Charley Dotson (18), Jim Hancock (21), and Joel Grimstad (22).

"Happy Anniversary" to: (None, according to our records.)

That's all for this week.

God's blessing on your day.

- Pastor Duane
